Creative Sanctuary is continuing: Save the dates!

Hi Reader,

A few weeks ago, we gathered for the second Creative Sanctuary — this time moving from my dining table into a community space at Harmony Hall in Mundaring.

There was knitting, wood burning, painting, collage, conversation, cups of tea, and stretches of quiet creating in the company of others.

One of the things that stayed with me afterwards was how, when 2pm arrived, it felt like we all could have happily stayed for hours longer.

I think there’s something really special about spending unhurried time creating in the company of others — without pressure to perform, produce, or rush onto the next thing.

You can read more here about why I believe spaces like this matter.

I’ve now confirmed dates for Creative Sanctuary for the rest of the year. We’ll gather every two months on the fourth Friday, from 10am–2pm, and I’ve found a venue in Darlington that feels like a lovely fit for the space 🌿

Friday 26 June
Friday 28 August
Friday 23 October

As always, you’re welcome to bring your own project, or simply come with curiosity and use the shared materials provided.

And because I want the space to feel accessible and community-minded, I’ve added a few optional support codes for anyone who might need them:

COMMUNITY10 — $10 off
COMMUNITY20 — $20 off

No explanation needed 💛

If you’d like to come with a friend, you can also use:

BRINGAFRIEND10 — $10 off when booking 2 or more places together

For more details and to reserve your place for Friday 26 June:

I’d love to create alongside you sometime this year.

Warmly,

P.S.
Since that first Creative Sanctuary, I’ve been thinking about how hard it can be to make space for creativity in full and busy lives. I’ve put together a small guide 5 Ways to Make Space for Creativity (Even When Life Is Full).

If you’d like an easy place to start [again], you can download it here.

Hey Reader, Just a quick note to let you know that I've made a small change to the date of our next Creative Sanctuary. Rather than Friday 28 August, we'll now be gathering on Friday 4 September. I realised that 28 August is the Book Week parade day for many local schools, so I've made a small change to the Creative Sanctuary date so that parents and grandparents (myself included!) don't have to choose between cheering on their little people at the Book Week parades and spending a gentle day...

Hi my friend, I believe creativity has a beautiful way of helping us slow down, reconnect with ourselves and others, and make space for joy. It's become such an important part of my own life that today, I thought I'd share a little more about why I believe that. I've always loved understanding why things work. In fact, I studied science, language, and education at university. These days I couldn't explain all the biochemical pathways (or even any of them!), but I don't think a scientific way...

Ok Reader, imagine this...This time next Friday... You're sitting with your creative project in front of you.A warm cup of tea beside you. You look up and the person at the next table gives you a smile. No pressure to produce anything. No deadlines. No expectations. Just a few uninterrupted hours to create in peaceful company. Bring whatever creative project is calling to you — knitting, sketching, writing, sewing, painting, scrapbooking, mending, or exploring something new. You're also welcome...
